Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe existed, the de facto superhero movies were the X-Men series. With a mix of story comic accuracy and incredible casting with the likes of Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. However, while many different characters were brought to the big screen, a famous team of young heroes called The New Mutants never made the jump. But with this, they’re finally being adapted in this new movie.

This movie is a horror movie based on the original team and it was going to be released in 2018, but it dealt with many delays and reshoots. However, since Disney has acquired Fox, the company has decided to release the movie’s original cut and released the first trailer in years. It will be the last new movie from the Fox X-Men universe.

The trailer introduces the characters that make up the New Mutants: Dani Moonstar, Rahne Sinclair, Sam Guthrie, Roberto Da Costa, and Ilyana Rasputin. The group is being kept in a hospital to help them with their mutant abilities, but there’s more to it than that. Each person is reliving their greatest fears over and over again, and the hospital has a barrier that stops the team from escaping. This story is based on the classic “Demon Bear” storyline from the comics, and other items like Ilyana’s Soul Sword appear straight from the comics. This movie has been years in the making, and the final movie is scheduled for release on April 3, 2020.
