After swearing to defend and uphold the United States Constitution, Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of America. Kamala Harris has also been sworn in, making her the first woman Vice President in American History.

This inauguration comes after much strife and conflict over the results of the election, which former President Donald Trump claimed were false. He is noticeably absent at the inauguration of President Biden, the first former President to do that in recent years and only the fourth in history.

However, in spite of the former president’s absence, there are many acclaimed guests present including Barack and Michelle Obama, Bernie Sanders, Jon Ossoff, and former Vice President Mike Pence. The ceremony is also being heavily guarded after the violent insurrection that saw domestic terrorists break into the Capital just two weeks ago.
